Boisé Exhibition in Quebec city

Focusing on this age-old material, which is ubiquitous in our daily lives, the curator of the exhibition BOISÉ – Wood in All Its Forms, Fanny Henon-Levy has meticulously selected six artistic practices—ranging from sculpture to weaving, design, and papermaking—that reinvent, transform, or repurpose wood to appropriate it, recreate it, and reveal its diversity.

For this exhibition, we wanted to present three new works.

The “Bréhat” table, the “Ti ar mor” stool, and the wall piece “Quartier lointain.”

All these works reflect a world that is at once sensitive, dreamlike, and reassuring, revealing the meticulous craftsmanship of cabinetmaking and leather marquetry where precision and intuition meet, making each piece entirely unique. Through a play of patterns and colorful lines, the leather highlights, punctuates, and interacts with the sculpted or assembled wooden forms.

On view from May 1 to June 14 at the Centre Materia in Quebec City.
